Needs an internet connectionThe layout is calculated on our server, so the page needs a connection while you calculate. A saved PDF plan works offline once it is on your device.
Bring the list you already have
Switching from a spreadsheet or another program does not mean typing everything again. A CSV in the template columns is read exactly; an Excel file, a PDF from design software or a photo of a handwritten list goes through the file reader and arrives as rows to check.
Questions
Does it print a cutting diagram?
Yes. The PDF plan is the cutting diagram: every sheet to scale, each part with its name and size, sheets with the same layout printed once with their count.
Is there a version to download for Windows?
No. Cutspan runs in the browser on Windows, Mac, iPad and phones, so there is nothing to install and nothing to update.
Is it really free?
Yes. Calculating layouts of up to 200 parts, and every file it produces, is free without an account. Reading lists with AI needs a free account.
Where are my projects stored?
A saved project is kept on our server for 90 days and opened by its link. Signed-in projects appear on any device you sign in on. See the privacy notice.
Does it optimise timber lengths?
The optimiser plans rectangular parts from sheets. For timber, battens, worktops or profile bought by length, use the free linear cut calculator.
